Over very own Jim Raffel was interviewed as part of the Idealliance G7 Summit held during Print 17 on September 11, 2017. While the quality of this video and the accompanying audio track is not great (it’s handheld Facebook live video somewhat enhanced), the message is worth listening to.
At about the 45 second mark, Jim discusses what the term industrial print means to him. In short, he believes that any time you are printing something that is a component part of something else, you are engaging in industrial inkjet printing.
At the 4:24 mark, there is a lengthy discussion about how he worked with the 200-inch dye sublimation printer we discuss on our About page. If you’re wondering how tricky color management can become, this sections covers it.
And finally, around 11:00 Jim discusses how the color management knowledge gap is the biggest challenge we face with almost every client. That’s why our business is built as a knowledge transfer conduit.
One of the ways we’re building that conduit is by running an SGIA Color Management Boot Camp at Muoth’s headquarters in Phoenix October 24-26, 2017.
